A Testimony of Perseverance and Possibility.
After completing my KCSE in 2018, financial challenges prevented me from immediately joining university. To stay hopeful, I taught in a village school before deciding to re-sit the exams, where I performed even better. In 2020, I was placed at Pwani University, but the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted my plans. To survive, I worked as a night security guard and a casual laborer for nine months before transferring to the University of Embu—a decision that changed my life. Admitted to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literature, I quickly embraced campus life, joined student leadership, and pressed on despite challenges, including secretly cleaning lecture halls at night to pay fees. Through resilience and determination, I graduated in 2024 with a Second Class Honors – Upper Division, later earning admission into a Master of Arts in Literature program, which I am currently pursuing. My journey has taught me that persistence, consistency, and faith turn struggles into stepping stones. I am deeply grateful to my parents, brother, and dedicated lecturers—Dr. Lilian Omoke, Dr. Cyrus Ngumo, Dr. Judy Makira, and Prof. Esperanza—for their unwavering support. This is not just my story but a testimony that no matter how dark life gets, light will always come. Keep pushing, your breakthrough is nearer than you think.
